This month we are featuring Cindy C. as our October Athlete of the Month. Since Cindy started, she really works her butt off each time she steps in to the gym and her hard work shows in her results. She's also not afraid to challenge herself physically and is always willing to take the coaches' feedback during the training sessions. Lastly, Cindy has been fully committed to attending regularly as she rarely misses her three-day-a-week commitment. And with her busy work and family life outside of the gym, it's not like time is a luxury for her. She's an inspiration to the coaches and all those around her.
What do you do when you're not killing it in the gym?
When I am not killing it in the gym I am busy with work as well as my family. I am a wife, a mother of 5 that range from ages 23 years old to 22 months and a grandmother of 2 children ages 5 and 4.
How long have you been doing CrossFit and what made you start?
I started off doing a 6 week challenge in January 2017, then a 4 week intro class to Crossfit and graduated to regular Crossfit classes. I started after seeing a 6 week challenge post on Facebook that encouraged me to take the challenge.
What's a goal of yours that you're working toward?
A goal of mine that I am working towards is to continue to learn the lift and movements of all workouts and continue to push myself to be the best I can be.
Think about your favorite type of workout - what lift/movement would it include? What about the lift/movement that makes you want to want to run for the hills?

What's one accomplishment you've achieved that's made you the most proud?
Continuing to show up and working hard to complete the workouts.
What's the most noticeable change you've witnessed since you've started?
Losing weight and gaining muscle.
What advice do you have for people interested in starting CrossFit?
CrossFit is for anyone even if you have never done it. You just have to be committed to want to better yourself and make yourself proud! CrossFit Hoffman Estates coaches are the best and continually push you to do your best every workout.
